Sharilyn Acres Horse Ministries was founded by Randy Freeman and Greg Gettings with the express purpose of spreading  the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the use of horses to convey how God works in our lives on a daily basis.  Phil Crim joined the ministry’s leadership team shortly after Randy and Greg incorporated the ministry as a 501(c)3 non-profit religious organization in early 2008.

 

The ministry’s leadership team had a singular focus: to make themselves available to God for his work...and God has done the rest.  Sharilyn Acres Horse Ministries is now a component of the Christian Horsemanship Association whose mission is to spread the Gospel and equip leaders through a number of equine and western-lifestyle related ministries across the United States.

HORSE THERAPY (THERAPEUTIC RIDING)

 

Minister to handicapped as well as non-handicapped children using horses to improve balance and building confidence. As a well known physician once said, "A horse's walking action mimics your body action. So when you put someone on a horse, the horse moves and the rider's muscles move in synchronization with it. A horse makes your whole body respond in a smoothly rhythmic, progressive way. They can do things (at a riding center) that they can't accomplish in a therapy room."

 

Therapeutic Riding also improves strength and coordination as well a building trust and confidence.

 

COWBOY CAMP MEETINGS

 

In the first two years, there will be Cowboy Camp Meetings each quarter. We will grow into having meetings monthly and then weekly. The Cowboy Camp meetings will consist of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

 

SEARCH AND RESCUE

 

Search and rescue on horseback for missing persons. Persons lost in areas where horses are needed because of the terrain.
